We kicked off July by celebrating Independence Day. On the 3rd, we turned Mia around in her car seat for the first time to face forward. She thought it was pretty amazing and was kicking her legs around in her newfound freedom. I think she might actually start to enjoy the car seat now!
With Mia facing forward, we set off to the pet stores to get Mia a fish. She loved seeing all of the animals and was pretty mesmerized by the fact that she got to take a fishy home.
That night, we went to Addison to watch the Kaboom Town fireworks. We never actually go to the event, but we go to our favorite park in Addison and you can see the fireworks from there. We left our house at 8:45 pm, pulled in to the park, set up our chairs and played on the playground until the fireworks started at 9:30 pm. #winning
Mia was not a fan of being pulled away from the playground and was not really a fan of the fireworks either. She was scared and said they were too loud. She immediately asked to go home. Womp womp. Maybe next year she'll like them.
Overnight, there was a pretty awful storm and we woke up to this on July 4th.
We have a HUGE tree in our back yard. One of the branches fell on a phone line, ripping some wood siding off our house where the line was attached, and left the box dangling on the line. We called AT&T at 9 am and they fixed everything by 11 am. We were shocked how fast they came out!
I have been growing my hair out for a couple of years now and with this heat it was finally time to chop it all off to donate it! I gave it to Wigs for Kids. I ended up cutting 12 inches off! I feel about 20 lbs lighter! My sister, Rachel, did my cut and I love how it turned out!
My little brother was bored out of his mind at home for the summer, so he came to spend the night and we spent the day catching Pokémon. I didn't know what all that entailed at the time, but it was A LOT of fun and we walked about 10 km that day. I became obsessed with the game and downloaded it for myself after I took him back home.
Mia has been going to the chiropractor for over a year now and it has eliminated her need for medication for her GERD. This year I decided it was my turn! I get awful sinus/tension headaches. So I have been going to the chiropractor 3 times a week to start off. Needless to say we spend a lot of time in Downtown Carrollton...but Mia doesn't mind. She loves the mechanical horse, doing sidewalk chalk and playing on the gazebo. If you haven't checked out Downtown Carrollton, you definitely should, it's a really cute place!
