What a weekend! Mia is still trying to catch up on some of her sleep that she missed out on over the holiday weekend. She is so interested in everything that is going on around her, that she sacrifices her sleep to make sure she does not miss anything! Here is how our Independence Day weekend went:
Friday (July 4th)- I worked, so I watched fireworks from patient's windows while Mike and Mia watched fireworks on TV.

Saturday (July 5th)- After I woke up, we headed out to Decatur for my co-worker's housewarming party. It was a 1 hour long drive one-way, so I was worried how Mia would handle being in the car seat for that long, but she slept the whole way, YAY! The party was a lot of fun and it was SO nice being off on a Saturday and spending it with my little family and friends.
My friend Carrie and her husband bought some land (5 acres!) out in Decatur and built a house last year. This was the first time we went out to see their place, it was quite the drive, but their house was beautiful and the party was so much fun!

| They had this huge water slide for the kids, look at all that land! |

| Mia refused to look at the camera all day |

We had such a good time, thanks Carrie for the hospitality! After we made the trek home, Mia slept until 8 am!
Sunday (July 6)- Mike's little brother spent the night Saturday night. So Sunday morning came and Mike put him to work. They ran errands and did some things around the backyard that needed to be taken care of. Nothing like free labor, since he is 16, he was really just paying us back for all the food he devoured while he was here, HA!
While the boys were doing chores, Mia and I headed out to go see family and go "swimming" for the first time!
 |
| Our first stop was to go play with Grandma Madeline |
Mia showed off some of her new skills for her Grandma Madeline and Aunt Nadiah. We stayed for a quick visit and were off to the next stop. We stopped by my mom's house for another quick visit and picked up my sister to head to our brother's house for a swim.

After
 |
| That wasn't too bad |
After we swam, my mom, step-dad, and little brother joined all of us to go out for dinner. They opened a new Luby's by my brother and we went to go try it out. When I was growing up, my grandpa used to take us to Luby's all of the time! I remember getting the orange jello every time! I have a lot of fond memories of Luby's, so I was excited to go there.

| We always roll deep in my family |
Needless to say, Mia had another really good night of sleep! We had an awesome holiday weekend and we hope everyone else did as well!
