Mia had her first birthday party last weekend! It took me a while to post this since we took turns getting sick after the party. We kept the party "small" with family only, but we have a huge family, so it's hard to keep anything "small." It was a fun party with a fun theme, UNO!
Uno was such a fun theme with a simple color scheme. Mia had a onesie that said "Wild about being Uno," a tutu that I made for her, some red leg warmers, and a yellow bow.
I love the details of a party, so I had fun putting the decorations together. I found this printable decoration bundle on Etsy for most of the banners and decorations. You can print them at home, cut them out, and string them up.

I printed out some coloring sheets and bought some crayons from the dollar store for something the kids could do. I also had left over mini Uno cards from decorations that I put out if anyone wanted to play

We made this "photo booth" for the party. It was a black tablecloth with streamers. The banner says "I'm wild about being Uno!"

We kicked the party off with eating. Mia really was not sure what to make of her birthday party, so for the most part she just contently watched the other kids run around and play.

Once she was done eating, we let her show off her new walking skills.
She was starting to get fussy, so we opened presents. She was fussy during that as well...
After presents we all sang Happy birthday and tried another smash cake session with her cupcake (read about her first attempt here). She still was not impressed.

Eh, maybe my parents aren't trying to kill me with this sugary stuff...
The rest of the party was spent passing Mia around and taking pictures in the photo booth.
I think Mia enjoyed her party, since she was up pretty late running around screaming with excitement (from a sugar high I'm sure). I still cannot believe we have a one year old, but I'm excited to see what is to come.
Thank you to everyone who came out to celebrate Mia's birthday and those who helped make the party a success!
