Spring celebrations

Spring has been full of celebrations. I thought I would share some of the fun we have had the past couple of months.

Birthdays
In March and April we have a lot of birthdays in my family. My sister, brother-in-law, dad, niece, and I all have birthdays in the Spring. I celebrated my 28th birthday in April. Gloria's is one of my favorite restaurants so I decided to celebrate there.

While we were at dinner, my sister received an alert on her phone to take cover from the storm. That is always fun, we didn't have anywhere to go, so we just kept eating. Mia stayed with our babysitter, so after Gloria's we went to a couple of nearby bars with my sister and brother-in-law. We do not get out much, so we decided to make a night of it.

I love the copper cups Moscow mules come in

Misty's bridal shower
My friend Misty is getting married in June! We have been friends since middle school and I am her matron of honor. We had a bridal shower for her a few weeks ago. We went with Spring colors and a theme of "Love is in bloom." It was such a fun theme and I think it came together nicely.

Cinco de Mayo
On Cinco de Mayo I was reading a blog post by The Pioneer Woman about her favorite Cinco de Mayo recipes. I came across her recipe for fajitas and decided to give it a shot. It was the first time Mike and I made fajitas, but they turned out delicious. My best friend came over and we all hung out, stuffed ourselves, and sipped on margaritas.

We bought this dress almost 4 years ago when we were honeymooning in Mexico and I was so excited to see Mia in it for the holiday (pardon the blurriness, she would not stand still)
I love all the color!
Nurse's week
National Nurses Week was May 6-12. My floor had a reality TV theme for nurses week and I worked on the Toddlers and Tiaras day.

Mother's Day
We kept it low key for Mothers day this year. Mike went to get me my favorite breakfast in the morning...pecan waffles and let me sleep in! That was glorious. I also ended up taking a nap when Mia went down for hers, sleep is the best! After our nap, we got ready and went out to have dinner with my mom. We went to a restaurant (bad decision) and waited almost 3 hours to be seated. Thankfully, Mia was too busy playing to care.

I am sad that Spring will be coming to an end soon and that summer will take its place with its unbearable heat. However, I am looking forward to more nights grilling (well watching Mike grill) and taking Mia to an actual pool this summer!

Enjoy the double digit temps while they last!
