Story time with Mia
Mia: "Mama finger hurt"

Mia: "No, thank you, mama! I kiss it!" *kisses her own finger* "All better!"
Me: *speechless and a little hurt by her independence*

Personality
Mia is an absolute nut and is such a fun girl to hang out with all day! There is never a dull moment around here. She amazes me with what she has been soaking up and is now able to vocalize. She also turned out to be a really polite kid, HA! I'm kind of proud that she always says please, thank you, you're welcome, and bless you!

You can tell she has an insatiable thirst for learning, and it's exciting to see it all coming together. She is still a busy body and is always testing her physical limits. She climbs everything! She is also a tantrum thrower. She is a ball of emotion and is extremely sensitive. Whenever she gets upset, she either throws herself down, screams, cries, and/or runs off (usually to her room) to be by herself. We've already had some doors slammed in frustration, the teen years should be fun! Haha! We love this girl to pieces and still can't believe that she is two!

Birthday celebrations

This is how we celebrated on her actual birthday:

We started the day with waffles and bacon, her favorite breakfast. Mike had to go to work in the afternoon and it was pretty chilly that day, so we decided to take her to see the animals at PetsMart since we were short on time (we were originally thinking the Zoo).

She didn't know the difference and loved seeing all of the animals! This particular PetsMart has a doggy daycare, so she got to see all of the dogs there.

She also enjoyed seeing the birds, reptiles, cats, and fish!

We went and got Chick-Fil-A for lunch and we gave her some cake after dinner. She didn't really eat much and when the icing got on her hands, it was game over. She hates being dirty and she doesn't really like sweets (she prefers salt). It was a pretty low key day.

Hanging out before bedtime

This is how we celebrated at her birthday party:

Mia's newest craze is Mickey Mouse. We hadn't even watched the show, when she saw him on Netflix (I think around Christmas time with the Mickey Christmas special) and went crazy and kept saying "mouse, mouse!" I have no idea how she knew who he was, but she has been all about him ever since. So we went with a Mickey Mouse theme for her party. Last year we did Uno, you can read about that here

We had her party at the daycare where my MIL is the director. They rent it out on the weekends because they have this awesome indoor playground! There is a section for older and younger children. If you want to check it out, you can find it here.

I've always wanted to have Mia's birthday party at a playground, but with her birthday in February, I have never wanted to chance the weather being bad. I was excited to have her party at a playground and all of the kids had so much fun!

After the kids played, we ate and had some cake.

We opened presents and Mia got a new whip from her grandparents! HaHa!

I was surprised at how quickly she caught on to how to drive it. She went cruising around with her baby cousin...I'm sure this is a glimpse into the future (not so much the car, HA!)

We also had a photo booth for everyone to take pictures.

The party was so much fun and all of the kids left worn out. My MIL was a huge help decorating the place the day before, so I just showed up with the food and enjoyed the party...amazing!

P.S. I came across an app called Youcam makeup and I have been having WAY too much with it!

LOL! Oh my, it's so much fun! This is the original picture for reference:

Thank you for reading along! I am going to try to keep the "Story time with Mia" going so I can record all of the crazy things that comes out of this little girl's mouth. ; ) Have a great week!
