Just breathe, Mama bird: Recap

I've decided I like these recaps, so I am going to keep them going. Mikol and I both have two jobs right now, so we have been staying pretty busy. These recaps will be a good way for me to stop and reflect on the month. Mia is growing so fast and I want to remember all of the silly things she is up to at this age. So...here is what we have been up to in February.

We had a low key Super Bowl and Valentine's Day at home. We munched on some yummy chocolate for Valentine's Day and Mikol surprised me with these beautiful orchids!

I went to the cutest baby shower! My friend Whitney is having a little boy in April and she had a woodland themed shower. It was amazingly creative. I am so happy for her and her husband!

The "acorns" were Hershey kisses, nutter butters, and a chocolate chip. The "hedgehog" was a cheese ball with almonds sticking up...hello, way too cute to eat! They had "sticks" and "twigs," which were Kit-kats and pretzels. The cookies were also woodland creatures and so stinking cute!

We have several February birthdays in my family, including my step-mom, SIL, and little brother. We went to Luigi's in Rockwall for my brother's birthday (I love that place!). Mia and my niece were in their own little world and made up a game to entertain themselves.

On Super Tuesday, Mia was sick, so I waited until Mikol got home to go vote. I didn't have much time, so instead of eating before work, I grabbed some baby food and ran out the door, HA!

Storytime with Mia:
We went to the park and there were 3 littles boys there ranging from 18 months - 2.5 years
Mia: "Come on baby" to the little boys to come slide with her patting her leg like they're dogs
Me: "They are not babies, Mia." Thinking to myself...nor are they dogs!

Once they are up on the slide (side by side slide)
Mia: "Ready, set, go!" She slides down the slide, but the little boy hasn't budged.
Mia: "It's okay baby...ready, set, go!"

Me: Holding back laughter, "Mia, they are your friends, not babies" Oh man, this girl!

The mom of one of the little boys commented on how much Mia talks and I told her she has no idea. She started talking about how little girls usually talk more before boys. Well little boys must have more emotional stability before girls, because once it was time to go, Mia had an all out tantrum. Rolling in the grass, screaming tantrum. The little boys got their stuff and were like what's wrong with her? Haha!
