Last December, my mom threw us an amazing baby shower. Since I was not blogging at that time I wanted to reflect back on that event.
The Saturday before the shower, Mike and I had our birthing class. This was definitely the highlight of the day:

Some of my family had come into town from San Antonio, so the evening before the shower, we went to go check out the lights in Addison at Vitruvian Park.
The pictures do not do the lights justice, they were really nice. The atmosphere was also really fun and family friendly. They had live music playing and food trucks as well. We had a good time, we were freezing, but we still had fun!
But I digress...

As for the baby shower...my mom, sisters, best friend, and sister-in-law had a hand in the festivities. They came over the day before to start decorating and it turned out great! I loved it!

| It was Safari themed with really cute animal prints |

My mom really got into planning the party and my sister would call me to tell me about something she saw on Pinterest, it was exciting to see it all come together.
 |
| This is one of my sister's Pinterest ideas, the punch with rubber duckies. This punch was so delicious! |
No party would be complete without a candy bar, so they made sure to include one at the shower. All of the cute prints (in frames) were courtesy of my graphic designer sister!
We ended up saving the elephant sign and the sugar and spice sign for mementos in Mia's room:

| The baby in this picture is from a game we played at the shower as well |
My sister-in-law apparently has a gift for making diaper cakes, we told her she needs to start a side business. She made us this amazing diaper cake for the shower.
I am a sucker for sweets, but I especially love cupcakes. The cake was a pull-away cupcake cake.
 |
| The sun prevented anyone from getting a very good picture of the cake, but it says It's a Girl! |
The favors were these super cute mints that went with the safari theme.
We played a few games, such as:
- toss the diaper (similar to hot potato)
- guess the baby food (done with looking at and smelling the baby food)
- matching celebrities with their baby's name
- pin the baby on the belly
- bingo (played while opening gifts)
 |
| This was the pin the baby on the belly game, they blew up my belly pic, HA! |

The rest of the time we spent eating, hanging out, and opening gifts.

| Pardon the blurriness |
I had such a good time and I am so thankful for all the people in my life that put this together. We are truly blessed and Mia is a lucky girl to have so many people that love her!
It is crazy that this shower was 6 months ago, and that Mia will be 5 months next week...it seems like yesterday!
p.s. I took these pictures yesterday and Mia would not sit still, I am scared we are going to blink and she will be crawling!

| Mom, what do you think about this pose? |
 |
| What's the problem, mom? |
 |
| Fine...I'll cooperate |
