1st Mother's Day

This past Sunday, we celebrated Mother's Day.  I was so excited to be on the other side of the day as a mama.  What a cherished and honorable title to have.  I am so blessed to be Mia's mommy!

I had worked the night before and got home around 8:30 am on Mother's day.  My husband went to get us breakfast while I snuggled with my baby.  Mike had set up my gifts and I was so sleepy (and hungry) that I walked past them and went straight for my food!

Mike had been stressing out about what he should get me for Mother's day, since it was my first one and he wanted to make sure it was special.  He ended up getting me these beautiful flowers, a cookie cake, a lady bug chocolate sucker, a gift card to Marshalls, and a necklace from Etsy (that is on its way).  He said he is anxiously awaiting when Mia can have a say in the gift buying process.  I think he did awesome without Mia's help!

After sleeping for a few hours, we got ready to head out to go see our moms.  We visited my mother-in-law first.  We exchanged gifts and hung out for a while.  It was nice seeing everyone, but we had to leave shortly after to head to dinner with my mom.

The next stop was Cheddar's to have dinner with my mom.  I have mentioned before how large our families are, but it is really evident when we go to restaurants.  We had 16 in our party! They ended up splitting us up and sat us at two different tables.

Lucas, Party of 16!

We got to the restaurant at 6:30 pm, so Mia was already in her fussy period (as evidenced by her face in the pictures).  I ended up putting her in her Mei tai wrap and she napped while we ate.

It was the first time we had gone to a restaurant as a family since Mia was born. We definitely enjoyed the time out of the house!

Once Mia woke up, she made her rounds being held by everyone.  I loved seeing everyone and cannot wait to keep celebrating being a mom for many years to come!

P.S.  This is the aftermath of working all weekend...bottle and breast pump pieces galore to clean, sterilize, and dry!
